Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! I am looking forward to getting to know all of my students and families this year! I have attached my current syllabus. It includes information about my website, Aeries and Class Dojo.

Tuesday, October 20th

Today we corrected page 101.
 
Students then took their Module #3 Test and turned in their Test Packet.
 
I'm offering Dojo points to students who bring in grocery ads (Ralphs, Vons, Stater Bros., El Super, Walmart, or any other grocery store)  We will be using them for a lesson later on. 

Monday, October 19th

Today we went over Friday's assignment (page 93 #13- 28)
 
Today's assignment is Page 101.  This is a review for tomorrow's Test on Module #3.  I will also be collecting their Module #3 Packet tomorrow.  The list is attached. 

Friday, October 16th

Today students completed taking notes on dividing rational numbers.
 
Today's assignment is Page 93 (#13-28).  I gave students time in class to work on this assignment.  Whatever is not completed in class is for homework this weekend.  This assignment is due on Monday. 
 
Advisory cards with all grades went home today.  Please take a look at your students' grades, sign the advisory card and send it back with students on Monday.  Thank you.

Tuesday, October 13th

Today students received their multiplying rational numbers packet.  This packet is due tomorrow.  The assignment is:
 
page 86 (5-17 odd)
page 87 (all except for #19)
page 88 (#25)
 
Students took notes on Multiplying Rational Numbers today. 
 
Students will take a mini quiz on Multiplying Rational Numbers tomorrow. 
 
Tomorrow is also the last day to turn in any make up work if they want it count on this week's advisory grade.
 

Friday, October 9th

Today I returned all student work back to each student.  They also received their quizzes back.  We went over them in class.
 
I also gave each student their current grade sheet with any missing assignments they may have.  Make up work is due on Wednesday if they want it to count for this next advisory.
 
Remember no school on Monday.  Hope everyone has a wonderful 3 day weekend. 
 
 

Thursday, October 8th

Today we corrected yesterdays work (Pages 72, 73, 724, 79, 80 and 81 from the textbook)
 
Students also took their quiz on Adding and Subtracting Rational Numbers.
 
Students turned in their Quiz packets today as well.  The quiz packet list is attached. 

Tuesday, October 6th

Today we corrected yesterday's assignment on Adding and Subtracting Decimals.
 
Students then worked on the Fraction, Decimal,, Percent Art assignment.  They were to choose at least 4 colors and create a design on the grid.  The entire square must be colored (they could not just color 1/2 of a square)  Once their design was made, they were to record how many squares of each color were colored and represent that as a fraction, decimal and percent.    The fractions must be simplified. 
 
Students also received their packet list today.  There are some pages on the packet that they have not received yet.  The packet will be due on Thursday.  Thursday is also quiz day.  They quiz will be on Adding and Subtracting Rational Numbers. 
 
Tomorrow I will be out of the classroom.  There will be a substitute covering my class.  Students will work on the book pages in the packet. 

Monday, October 5th

Today we corrected Friday's assignment on Adding and Subtracting Fractions.
 
Students took notes on Adding and Subtracting Decimals and they are to complete the attached worksheet for homework tonight.  It is due tomorrow.

Wednesday, September 30th

Today we went over yesterday's mini quiz on writing fractions in decimal form.  Students added questions and a summary to their notes on this topic.
We then began taking notes on our new lesson about Adding and Subtracting Rational Numbers. 

Tuesday, September 29th

Today students corrected page 15 from their workbook and completed page 65 from their textbook in class. 
 
Students took a mini quiz on writing fractions in decimal form.  They also turned in their mini packet today (page 15 and page 65) and extra credit if they chose to complete it. 
 
Tomorrow we will start on adding and subtracting rational numbers.

Monday, September 28th

Today students took notes on writing fractions in decimal form.
 
Students also worked on workbook page 15 in class.  This should have been completed in class, however if they did not finish, they were to do it for homework tonight.  We will go over this tomorrow.
 
Students will have a short mini quiz on this topic tomorrow. 

Friday, September 25th

Today we went over the answers to yesterday's test. 
 
Students completed writing their questions and summaries for their notes on Applying All Integer Operations.
 
We will begin our lesson on changing fractions to decimals on Monday.
 
Advisory Cards went home with students today.  Please look over these cards, sign and have students return these cards to their 5th period teacher on Monday. 
 
This Monday will be Mind the Red Monday for 7th period classes.   Those students caught up in their 7th period class will get an extra 20 minute break.  Those not caught up will stay in their 7th period classes to catch up on work.

Thursday, September 24th

Today we corrected page 55 in class.
 
Students then took their Module #2 Test.
 
There is no homework tonight.
 
We will begin changing fractions to decimals tomorrow.

Tuesday, September 22nd

Today students took notes on Applying All Integer Operations.
They watched the Go Math powerpoint and followed along on pages 49-55.  Students should be completed with all of pages 49-50 and the top 4 problems on page 51.  We will continue working on this tomorrow.
 
All make up work is due tomorrow!
