Message from your GMS Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope this letter finds you well and filled with excitement as we gear up for the start of a new academic year at Graves MS! On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, we extend our warmest welcome back to all our returning families and extend a heartfelt greeting to those who are joining our school community for the first time.

Our primary goal this year is to provide a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for all our students. We are committed to fostering academic excellence, personal growth, and a sense of community that will help our students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Here are a few key points and important dates to help you prepare for the upcoming school year:

Packet Pickup and Registration: Registration packets will be available for pick up on Wednesday, 8/2/23 and Thursday, 8/3/23 at GMS from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Registration packets and Aeries data confirmation must be completed and turned in at the GMS Field House on Friday, 8/4 (7th grade families) and Monday, 8/7 (8th grade families) in order to receive student’s free physical education clothes. Your preparedness will ensure a smooth registration for your child.

First Day of School: The first day of school will be on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 (Please note that five minutes have been added to our bell schedule; students will now be dismissed at 2:44 pm Tuesday-Friday and 1:40 on Mondays). Please make sure your child arrives at school on time to kick off the year with enthusiasm and energy.

Parent-Teacher Communication: Effective communication between school and home is crucial for your child's success. Throughout the year, we will keep you informed about your child's progress, events, and important updates through newsletters, emails, and parent-teacher conferences.

Academic Support: Our school is dedicated to supporting every student's academic journey. If you ever have concerns about your child's progress or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to the teachers or our counseling department.

Health and Safety: The well-being of our students is our top priority. We continue to closely monitor and implement safety protocols to ensure a healthy and secure learning environment. Your cooperation in following these guidelines is greatly appreciated.

We believe that education is a collaborative effort, and your support and involvement are instrumental in creating a positive educational experience for your child. Together, let's make this academic year one filled with joy, growth, and accomplishments.

We look forward to seeing you at the start of the school year. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact the school office.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education, and let's make this year a memorable one!

With Pride,
J. Carlo Marquez
