Greetings Panther Families,
We would like to inform you that beginning May 18, 2026, through the end of the school year, our 7th-grade students will participate in the Teen Talk curriculum, a comprehensive health education program. This instruction is required under the California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA) and is designed to provide students with accurate, age-appropriate, and inclusive information that supports their overall health and well-being.
Purpose of the Program - Teen Talk helps students:
- Develop healthy decision-making and communication skills
- Understand personal boundaries, consent, and relationships
- Build awareness of physical, emotional, and social development
- Gain knowledge to support safe and responsible choices
- Building confidence to ask questions and seek help from trusted adults
- Developing respect for themselves and others
- Navigating important topics they may encounter in middle school and beyond
As a reminder, California law allows parents/guardians to opt their child out of this instruction. If you do not want your child to participate, please notify the school in writing. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your child’s growth and well-being.
