What a lovely setting for our breakfast at the hotel. So, we packed our bags and left D.C. for Gettysburg. We saw the cyclorama, a giant painting in the round depicting Pickett's Charge, a famous moment in the battle of Gettysburg. We also got a great tour of the battlefield with an expert guide. He was funny, too. We climbed the Pennsylvania Monument in Gettysburg, then visited the Gettysburg National Cemetery where Mario, a student from our sister school, Discovery read to us The Gettysburg Address. Then we had a 90-minute drive to Kitchen Kettle Village for lunch and shopping. It's a quaint little area in the middle of Amish country. We are ending the day in Philadelphia, so we had a guided walking tour before visiting the "Rocky" steps. Dinner was at Pat's or Geno's. Students got to choose, but they were both cheesesteak sandwich places. Off to New York tomorrow.
