Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! I am looking forward to getting to know all of my students and families this year! I have attached my current syllabus. It includes information about my website, Aeries and Class Dojo.

Wednesday, December 2nd

Today students should have finished their Application of Percent Worksheet in the computer lab.  Students also continued work on Khan Academy.  Students should be at skill 80.  This is something they can be working on at home if they have internet access.
 
Students continued to take notes on applications of percent.
 
All make up work was due today for it to count on this Friday's advisory.
 
HOMEWORK:  Textbook pages 150 and 156 due tomorrow.
                         Percent Quiz is tomorrow
                         Quiz packet will also be turned in tomorrow.    The quiz packet should include:  Percent of a Number worksheet, Application of Percent Worksheet, Page 150 and Page 156.
 
 

Tuesday, November 1st

Today students corrected last night's homework on finding the percent of a number. 
 
Students continued to take notes on percent.
 
In the computer lab, students began work on their percent worksheet.  This assignment is an application of percent.  This assignment will be due on Thursday.  Students also worked on Khan Academy.  I modified the assignment to 80 skills completed instead of 90.  I will be checking on their skill progress tomorrow during lab time. 
 
All make up work is due tomorrow for Friday's advisory. 

Monday, November 30th

Welcome back Panthers! 
 
Today students took notes on finding the percent of a number.  Homework today is to complete the Percent of a Number worksheet.  You may download a copy from the attached file. 
 
All make up work is due by Wednesday, December 2nd if it is to be counted on this Friday's Advisory grade. 
 
The Percent Quiz is scheduled for Thursday, December 3rd.

Wednesday, November 18th

Students started the district math benchmark exam today.  They will be given time tomorrow to complete the test. 
 
Pages 103-107 and Pages 161-162 are due tomorrow.
 
Students will also be turning in their Unit #1 Test tomorrow.  They have already completed this test and we have gone over it. 
 
Thank you to the parents who attended yesterday's conferences.  We will continue conferences the rest of this week.

Tuesday, November 17th

Today students worked on pages 103-107 and pages 161-162.  This "packet" is due on Thursday.  Tomorrow students will take the district math benchmark test.  Please have students well rested and eat a good breakfast!  Thank you!

Monday, November 16th

Today students worked on pages from their textbook.
Pages 103-107 and pages 161-162
This assignment is due on Thursday for 20 points
 
The math district benchmark exam will be given Wednesday and Thursday this week.
 
Conference time change forms were given to students whose appointment times changed. 

Friday, November 13th

Today we finished correcting the Unit #1 Test.  Students also worked on Khan Academy in the computer lab.
 
Reminder:  Next week students come to school Monday - Thursday and they are minimum days every day.  Students do not come to school on Friday.
 
Also, please make sure you get your blue conference forms turned in.  Even if you cannot attend a conference, please sign the form and return it with a phone number. 
 
The district math benchmark exam will be on Wednesday and Thursday.

Thursday, November 12th

Today students continued review for next week's District Math Benchmark Exam. 
 
Students also continued work on Khan Academy in the computer lab.
 
Students should have turned in their blue conference forms today.  If you have not yet returned it, please give it to Mrs. Weiss on Friday. 

Tuesday, November 10th

Today we continued reviewing for the district Benchmark exam that will be given next Wednesday and Thursday.
 
Students were given conference forms today that need to be filled out and returned to me on Thursday.   Forms must be signed by a parent/guardian and please include a phone number as well. 
 
Remember- no school tomorrow (Wednesday, November 11th) in observance of Veterans Day. 
 
Students also should be continuing work on Khan Academy at khanacademy.org.

Friday, November 6th

Today we began review for the district Benchmark Test.  We started going over the Unit #1 Test that they took last week.  We will continue going over that test next week. 
 
Today is advisory day.  Students will be bringing home advisory cards with current grades in all their classes.  Please review their advisory cards, sign them and have students return them to their 5th period teacher.  Report cards will be mailed home soon.

Thursday, November 5th

Today, student grades in my class are reset.  Everyone starts with an A!! 
 
Students created questions and a summary for their notes on Proportional Relationships.  We also went over the answers to yesterday's test on Module #4. 
 
Students should be continuing work on Khan Academy.  They should be on skill 90 in 3 weeks. 

Thursday, October 29th

Today students added their questions and summary to their notes on Unit Rates.  We then went over yesterday's mini quiz on Unit Rates. 
 
Students also worked on Khan Academy.  They should be on skill 70 by next Wednesday.  I encourage students to be working on this at home as well.

Also, Error Analysis on the Unit 1 test are due tomorrow.  This will allow students to make up points on this test.

Tuesday, October 27th

Today we finished taking notes on Unit Rates.
 
Today's homework is to complete page 121 (#9-13)  due tomorrow.
 
The Unit Rates Mini Quiz is also tomorrow.  Calculators are allowed if you wish to bring one of your own.  No cell phone calculators!!!  You may use just a cheap calculator that does the basic functions of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.

Monday, October 26th

Today students finished their Unit 1 Tests. 
 
We proceeded on to Module #4 and students took notes on Unit Rates.
 
Students will take a mini quiz on Unit Rates on Wednesday.
 
Error Analysis on the Module #3 test will be due on Friday.  This is for any student who wishes to earn back some points on this test.  The green Error Analysis handout is available at all times in the classroom.  I have shown students how to complete the form and what is expected.
 
Looking ahead to next week:  Wednesday will be the last day for students to turn in any missing assignments for this first trimester.  Trimester #1 will end Friday, November 6th and report cards will be sent home. 
 
Next Wednesday will also be the day students will take their test on Module #

Today we correct yesterday's assignment (Unit 1 Review Worksheet)
 
Students then took the Unit 1 Test
 
No homework this weekend.  :)
