Graves Received a Nomination for the Gold RIbbon Award!

Graves has completed the rigorous application process, as well as a site review by a validation team. The validation team studied data, interviewed staff, parents, and students, and most importantly visited classrooms. We were thrilled with the comments they had about our school. The team was pleased with what they saw at Graves. They were impressed with the AVID Excel program. They commented on the progress the school has made academically and the positive learning environment. The team was impressed with our campus, with our implementation of the Common Core in ELA, with our parents, staff, our partnership with Biola University, and most importantly, our kids. It was quite touching, as one of our board members became tearful as she described our Intervention Program and the great work we are doing as a school.

The students did an amazing job, and we are very proud of them. The team was incredibly impressed with our kids. In fact, they left us a card that stated, in part, “We loved the student testimonials, they were very powerful. Thanks for providing your students with a caring environment and never giving up on the kids!” Our kids were asked to describe Graves in one or two words and some of their responses included, “caring, supportive, they never give up on us, challenging, good teachers…”.

We would like to send a big thank you to the GMS community. This is a remarkable accomplishment that honors all of the hard work and dedication put in here at Graves. We will continue to make growth and push ourselves to be better every day.
